Chain plate conveyor line maintenance mainly includes daily inspection and maintenance, regular deep maintenance and special maintenance in different environments.
Daily inspection and maintenance
Chain inspection: Check whether the chain plate, roller and pin of the chain plate are worn, stretched or rusted, especially at the joints. If the chain is too loose, it is easy to jump teeth. If it is too tight, it will increase wear. The tensioning device needs to be adjusted to the appropriate tightness (the droop is generally 2%~3% of the total length of the chain). Sprocket and guide rail inspection: Observe whether the sprocket tooth surface is unevenly worn, and ensure that the sprocket is aligned with the center line of the chain to prevent deviation or skipping teeth. Check whether the guide rail is deformed or loose, and clean the debris accumulated in the guide rail groove. Transmission system inspection: Monitor whether the motor and reducer are running with abnormal noise, and check whether the temperature is normal (generally the surface temperature of the motor is ≤70℃). Check the lubrication of the bearings and rollers to ensure flexible rotation. Lubrication management: Select appropriate lubricants according to the environment, such as high temperature resistant grease for high temperature environment and food grade lubricant for food industry. The lubrication frequency is adjusted according to the operation conditions. Lubricate once every 8 hours during continuous operation and lubricate daily during intermittent operation.
Regular deep maintenance
Weekly maintenance: Clean the chain and guide rails thoroughly and check whether there is any jamming between the links. Test whether the safety devices (such as emergency stop switch and overload protection) are effective. Check whether the connecting pins at the chain joints are loose or worn.
Monthly maintenance: Readjust the chain tension and check the tensioner bearing status. Check the gear oil level of the reducer and add or replace the lubricant.
Quarterly/annual maintenance: Measure the chain elongation (if it exceeds 3% of the original length, the entire chain needs to be replaced). Disassemble the sprocket to check whether the keyway is loose, and replace it if the tooth surface wear exceeds 20%. Fully calibrate the horizontality of the conveyor line and the parallelism of the sprocket to ensure that the chain runs in a consistent trajectory. Special maintenance for different environments
High temperature environment: Use high temperature resistant chains (such as stainless steel or nickel-plated chains) and increase the frequency of lubrication. Install heat dissipation devices (such as fans or cooling plates). Humid/corrosive environment: Use stainless steel chains or surface-plated chains and apply anti-rust oil regularly. Install waterproof covers on electrical components. Dust environment: Install protective covers and regularly clean the dust on the chain surface to prevent dust from mixing with grease to form abrasives. Use dry film lubricants or self-lubricating chains instead.
